Apps and their keys
Push sits under Settings, one grid of the project’s apps with their platforms, readiness and devices. Add app names an app and the builds it has: an iOS bundle id, an Android package name and the https website a browser subscribes from, at least one of the three. A row opens the app beside the grid. An iOS build takes an Apple .p8 key with its key id, team id and environment; an Android build takes the service account JSON of its Firebase project; a website needs nothing more, because Prodantix mints the app’s Web Push keys when it is made and shows the public one. Keys are sealed when saved and shown afterwards only by their last characters; a new file replaces one. An app is ready once each of its builds can be reached.
Registering devices
On a website, copy prodantix-push-sw.js from the package’s dist folder to the root of the site, since a service worker must come from the site’s own origin, then call registerPush({ apiKey, appId, distinctId, host }) from @prodantix/sdk/web on a click: browsers refuse a permission prompt the person did not start. It answers registered, denied or unsupported. In a Flutter or Dart app, pass the APNs or FCM token to client.registerDevice(appId:, platform:, token:), again whenever the platform hands out a new one, and call client.reportPushOpened(data) with a tapped notification’s data; the web worker reports opens itself. A device registers once per token and moves to its newest person, and a token a platform rejects as dead is removed. The edge serves GET /v1/push/vapid, POST /v1/push/devices and POST /v1/push/opens under the project key.
Writing a push campaign
Edit chooses the app, the title (up to 65 characters), the text (up to 240), an https image shown large, where a tap opens (an https address or the app’s own link) and the badge on the app icon, with the notification drawn as an iPhone, an Android phone and a browser show it. Write {{ person.first_name | fallback: "there" }} to greet each person by name. A push or text campaign is made from New campaign on the Campaigns grid, which lists every channel together, and opens on its own page. Recipients names the cohorts to send to and to leave out and the subscription type, which must be a marketing type of the channel; Settings sends it as soon as it is scheduled, at a set time, or at a wall-clock time in each person’s own time zone (send time optimisation reads email opens, so it is the email’s alone). When sending starts the list is fixed: only marketing contacts subscribed to the type and under the project’s weekly frequency cap for the channel are reached, and every person left out is counted by reason. Approval, Schedule, Unschedule, Pause, Resume and Cancel work as they do for an email, under the same prodantix.marketing_emails.* permissions, and sending stops while the company is over its messages allowance. Send test sends the saved message, led by [Test] and personalised as them, to one person of the project you name by their id, who must be subscribed to the type; the quiet hours hold for a test too, and a message takes ten tests a clock hour and each member thirty across every campaign. A test reaches a real person, so it needs the permission to send campaigns, and while the company asks for approval, a message not yet approved is tested only by someone who may approve it. A push reaches every live device of the person, waits out the project’s quiet hours in the person’s own time, and counts on the messages meter. Each push writes $push_sent or $push_failed on the person’s timeline, and the first tap on it $push_opened. Report shows sent, delivered, opened, failed and left out; the phone lists push campaigns with the rest, opens their report and approves or sends one back.
Permissions, API and agents
Reading apps needs prodantix.push.read and changing them prodantix.push.manage. Apps are served over REST under /v1/projects/{projectId}/push/apps and campaigns under /v1/projects/{projectId}/channel-messages, over GraphQL (pushApps, createPushApp, updatePushApp, setPushAppFcm, setPushAppApns, archivePushApp, channelMessages, channelMessage, channelMessageReadiness, channelMessageReport, createChannelMessage, saveChannelMessage, requestChannelMessageApproval, approveChannelMessage, rejectChannelMessage, sendChannelMessageTest, scheduleChannelMessage, unscheduleChannelMessage, pauseChannelMessage, resumeChannelMessage, cancelChannelMessage, archiveChannelMessage, channelMessageChanges), as channelMessageChange frames on the company’s Socket.IO room, and to agents through the MCP tools prodantix.push.apps, prodantix.push.create_app, prodantix.push.update_app, prodantix.push.archive_app, prodantix.channel_messages.list, prodantix.channel_messages.get, prodantix.channel_messages.readiness, prodantix.channel_messages.report, prodantix.channel_messages.create, prodantix.channel_messages.save, prodantix.channel_messages.request_approval, prodantix.channel_messages.approve, prodantix.channel_messages.reject, prodantix.channel_messages.send_test, prodantix.channel_messages.schedule, prodantix.channel_messages.unschedule, prodantix.channel_messages.pause, prodantix.channel_messages.resume, prodantix.channel_messages.cancel, prodantix.channel_messages.archive. Uploading a key is left out of MCP: a credential is entered by a member, never passed through an agent.
